Ninety percent of job disputes come from scope and change orders. Those two paragraphs are the ones that save you.
This is a plain-English starting point, not legal advice and not a contract drafted for your state or trade. Have a local attorney review it before you rely on it, especially the deposit, lien and warranty language, which are regulated differently everywhere.

This tool produces a working draft or an organizational aid. It is not legal advice, it does not create an attorney-client relationship, and it does not account for your jurisdiction's rules or deadlines. A licensed attorney in your jurisdiction has to review anything that matters.
